Chris Utterback’s post about Representative Doug Lamborn’s concern that a photo showing a five-year-old girl in polluted water constituted child porn has generated lots of debate, as well as some fascinating takes on misreadings of perfectly acceptable material.
This reminiscence is a case in point.

My mother used to work for a book distributor, and she got a call one day from a woman who was very upset to have just opened a big box full of child porn. Turned out it was a bunch of Anne Geddes calendars — (that the woman had ordered). On the cover was a naked baby with angel wings. Some people have so much vile crap in their head, they can’t see the forest for the trees.
