This past rainy weekend, North County — the Southern California-inspired restaurant that opened late last year in Lowry, a part of town hungry for eating options — was packed with people eager to get out of the wet weather and into some potent margaritas. Gretchen Kurtz reviewed North County last week, and says the place’s popularity is justifiable, although North County still has a few kinks to work out. Lauren agrees, and writes:
I struggle with this place. All the pork I’ve gotten has been DRY. Their guac and fundido is some of the best I’ve ever had. Had the duck quesadilla, which while delicious had a ton of rice in it. Their happy hour is fantastic though, drink-wise. It’s like a perpetual two steps forward, one step back. They have some sorting to do for sure.
