The circa 1875 mansion has been battered by the elements, subjected to fines and targeted by a foreclosure action.

As for the owner, he asked for permission to destroy it way back in 2010, pleading economic hardship.

The Bosler’s situation inspired a lot of comments from readers, many of whom lament the loss of vintage architecture in favor of fuglier modern abodes.
