Saturday night was supposed to be end in triumph for Thornton’s Mike Alvarado. The hometown boxing hero was fighting Ruslan Provodnikov in a junior welterweight title bout at the 1STBANK Center in a slugfest aired live on HBO. But there was no happy ending: Provodnikov prevailed in the tenth round of the brutal battle. Our Brandon Marshall was on hand to capture all the action. Check out his vivid images below.
