The Junior Alliance Back to School Book Drive, tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blake Street Tavern (2401 Blake Street), marks a new push by Girls Inc. to encourage women ages 21 to 35 to be role models for the girls served by the Girls Inc. program. It’s also a good chance for those women to network with those peers.

If you’re female, between the ages of 21 and 35, and bring a book from this list, you get into the event for free. If you don’t fit within those perimeters, you’ll have to pay $36 at the door — but that will also get you light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments courtesy of Flying Dog Brewery.

Girls Inc. Denver was started in 1995, and has been serving girls from all walks of life ever since. For more information, visit www.girlsincdenver.org. — Aubrey Shoe
