Colorado’s licensed psilocybin space is still opening up, but the spores have grown quickly. Months after the first round of mushroom-growing operations, facilitators and testing labs received their state licenses to operate, a handful of businesses are up and running, from Denver and Boulder to small towns like New Castle and Westcliffe.

If you’re trying to sign up for psilocybin-assisted therapy or a facilitation session, there are clinical protocols and Colorado psychedelics laws to follow. Although the strategy and intentions of a facilitator may vary slightly, virtually all of them will want to know more about you before feeding you mushrooms, so be prepared to answer a few questions and talk about yourself beforehand. It’s really not that hard if you’re 21 or older with a valid ID and have a modicum of patience and good intentions, however.
