Fans wrapped around the block in anticipation of Trey Anastasio Band at Mission Ballroom on November 14. The legendary jamband guitarist’s side project wasted no time delivering an epic set that blended both Anastasio’s solo efforts and Phish classics.
Opening the set with “Stash,” the crowd immediately broke in their dancing shoes while Trey grinned and bounced through bandmates’ solos, seemingly having the time of his life alongside everyone else in the room.

The mix of Phish tunes and TAB originals continued with “Alive Again,” “Mozambique” and “Ocelot.” Anastasio was joyous from the stage, beaming and grinning constantly while interacting with his band. The first set ended with a live debut of “Real You” and recent Phish setlist staple “What’s Going Through Your Mind.” The packed house couldn’t wait for the band to return during set break, and once it did, many fans were even making the hallways their dancefloors (sometimes you need to opt for more space to dance than a view, especially when the sound is so good).

The second set kicked off with “Shine” and went into a couple of fan favorites, “Wolfman’s Brother” and “Last Tube,” before yet another live debut for “Mindless Mood.” “The Moma Dance” and “Sand” had the crowd bouncing to the familiar funk-rock-jam fusion. For the encore, Trey walked out with just his acoustic guitar, performing a solo rendition of “Lost in the Pack” before his band rejoined him for “Everything’s Right.” By the end of the night, Mission Ballroom felt more like a sacred communal space than a rock venue, with fans eager to get back in long lines to do it all over again the next night.
