With one of the busiest airports in the country, Denver residents have plenty of travel options. And as Denver International Airport grows in size, so do its flight offerings.

Over the last two years, DIA has added direct routes to Istanbul, Turkey, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Rome, Italy and Saskatchewan, Canada (let’s go, Roughriders), as well as a handful of new domestic routes to the East Coast, including Buffalo, New York and Wilmington, North Carolina. This year, flights will leave the Denver airport for even more destinations, with nine new direct stops and four new service lines to existing DIA destinations.

DIA flyers now have their choice of 34 international destinations across twenty countries, and at least one more will be added in June.

On top of the confirmed new routes, another route to Mexico City through Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), the second-largest airport in Mexico, could be added in 2026 through budget airline Viva, according to Pável Meléndez Cruz, the consul general for Mexico in Denver. In a speech on February 5, Meléndez Cruz announced the additional Mexico City route and the upcoming Queretaro flights; the consul general also mentioned an upcoming direct route to Zacatecas International Airport (ZCL), which would be a new DIA destination to Central Mexico.

The first flights to Felipe Ángeles International Airport in Mexico City were supposed to take off last year, but President Donald Trump revoked approval for the Denver-to-AIFA line, along with a dozen other routes to Mexico, in October. According to Meléndez Cruz, the DIA-AIFA line “has already been authorized,” and he expects the route to begin “this year.”
