When you walk into Buntport Theater for Some Kind of Fun — the first show in the first season of Adam Stone’s Screw Tooth multimedia theater ensemble — you will see the bare warehouse as you’ve never seen it before, free of curtains and all pretense of being a normal theater space. “We took out all the risers and seats, and moved all the seating — a combination of benches and stools and different things — into the center of the space,” says Stone, a former Buntport collaborator who is launching his own series of shows in the space tonight. “Essentially, it involves sound, music, dance, a lot of different design elements, and video that happens in 360 degrees, around the house.”

Throw in seventeen cast members with distinct characterizations and a lot of noise — “and by noise, I mean both visual and sonic noise,” he notes — and you’d think you’d be in for a chaotic evening. But Stone doesn’t think so. “It’s an experiment…as all of our shows will be. We’re trying to play with form in live performance and trying to really explore creating new processes for making shows,” he explains.

Some Kind of Fun will place expectations on the audience to keep track of the action, which doesn’t move in a traditional scene-to-scene format. And if you like it, Stone suggests seeing it more than once: “Everyone will have a different experience. You could come on a different night and have a completely different experience.”

The Fun begins at 8 p.m. and continues Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through September 14 at Buntport, 717 Lipan Street; there will also be a pay-what-you-can performance on September 9. Reserve tickets, $15, at screwtooth.com/current.html.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Mon., Sept. 9, 8 p.m. Starts: Aug. 30. Continues through Sept. 14, 2013
