We’d all like to imagine we’ll be zombie-murdering heroes when the dead walk the earth, but the truth is that most of us will just want to hole up somewhere and drink until it’s over. Finally, there’s an event aimed at those willing to embrace a drunken slide into the apocalypse: the End of the World Pub Crawl.

“It’s not your standard pub crawl,” explains founder Luke Wade. “You’re interacting and running from zombies and trying to stay alive. We’re like the lazy man’s zombie 5K.”

For four hours, a block of LoDo will be turned into a zombie hellscape. The street will crawl with the undead hordes, while participating bars will serve as safe zones. Make it to all five bars in the allotted time without losing the flags that represent your life, and you might win a prize. And even if you get “bit,” you still get to drink, so, really, everyone wins — even the spectators who’ll be watching a bunch of drunk survivalists run from the living dead.

The crawling starts at 1 p.m. today (registration opens at 11 a.m.) at the Armoury, 2048 Larimer Street. Tickets are $35 to $50 and include a T-shirt, sunglasses, a beer coozie and two drink tickets. Register and get more information at endoftheworldpubcrawl.com.
Sat., Sept. 13, 1-5 p.m., 2014
