At every karaoke night I’ve ever attended, someone inevitably sings “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” As many times as I’ve heard that song, I’d still put even money on Eileen Ivers beating that Johnny punk fair and square.

Decide for yourself tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Eileen Ivers’ An Nollaig — An Irish Christmas features Ivers and band Immigrant Soul performing with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Merging African and Latin percussion and bass with Irish instrumentals, the nine-time all-Ireland fiddle champion and three-year Riverdance player will perform holiday favorites such as “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “The Holly Tree” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” As a bonus, a local Irish dance company will perform during some songs. Tickets are $15 to $67.50 and going fast; call 303-623-7876 or go to www.coloradosymphony.org for yours.
Tue., Dec. 19, 7:30 p.m.
