Keep Westword Free
We’re aiming to raise $20,000 by April 26. Your support ensures Westword can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
If you want to eat like a king but pay like a serf tonight, go to one of the Boulder restaurants participating in First Bite Boulder — a week-long event during which forty Boulder restaurants offer a three-course prix-fixe meal for only $26.
First Bite Boulder — thought up by Kate Lacroix of dish Publicity and Josh Dinar of Dining Out magazine — is celebrating its second year. Lacroix says the goal is to shed light on the Boulder restaurant community.
“Dining out is not cheap, and Boulder is not a cheap place,” says Lacroix. “It’s great that the restaurants can open up and serve an awesome meal for a good price.”
The Boulder dining scene is a thriving one: According to Lacroix, Boulderites eat out more per capita than any other citizens around the country. It’s also a young one: Fifteen of the forty participating restaurants have opened in just the past three years.
