$20,000

CultureHaus, a young-professionals’ support group for the Denver Art Museum, works all year to raise funds for selective DAM programming. But Banner — a big party with changing artsy themes — is its annual blowout, and this year’s event, Banner 2014: Art of Light, will be particularly illuminating, as well as just plain fabulous. On tap for the evening are a glow-in-the-dark fashion show by artshoesonline.com; an interactive video-game preview by OhHeckYeah (the organization planning to take over Curtis Street in downtown Denver this summer for an immersive video-game experience); a silent auction; photo booths; a DJ; and an elegant spread of hors d’oeuvre from Three Tomatoes and libations from Odells.

“This is a great opportunity to connect with the rest of the art community and the next generation of art aficionados,” says CultureHaus spokeswoman Dresden Romero. “It’s a fun event with a lot of creative features.”

Make some sparks: Art of Light switches on tonight at 7 p.m. at Battery 621, 621 Kalamath Street. Admission is $50 to $60 in advance or $60 to $70 at the door; go to culturehaus.denverartmuseum.org for reservations and event details.

Sat., May 10, 7-10 p.m., 2014
