Wax your mustaches and practice your crazy eyes: Salvador Dali is coming to Colorado, for a month-long stay at the Center for the Arts/ Evergreen.
Okay, so it’s unlikely that Dali himself will show up. And the items on display are actually poster reproductions on loan from the Dali museum in Florida (the second largest Dali museum in the world). Still, the greatest surrealism comes from the realities that don’t make sense.
The exhibit, aptly named Dali on Tour, will feature reproductions of 31 of Dali’s works, and lead visitors on a journey through the painter’s strange and complicated life. From melting clocks and flying fish in the 1930s to pixelated portraits of Abraham Lincoln in the late ’70s, Dali’s work bends the mind and plays with perceptions of reality.
A reception from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight will open the exhibit. And in conjunction with the show, the Center for the Arts will host a brown-bag lunch lecture by Jean Sharer at noon February 1 to discuss the man and his work.

The Center for the Arts/Evergreen, located at 32003B Ellingwood Trail, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The show runs through March 1; head on up to Evergreen before then and show Dali — or at least the copy machine that produced these works — some respect.
