Dia de los Muertos is a cause for celebration, a reason to gather with friends and family to remember the souls who have passed on. Mandie Erickson will make November 1 a day to remember by curating her first art show, which will have a grand opening from 6 to 10 p.m. that day at Good Omen Tattoo, 2561 South Broadway.

“I have some friends who own a tattoo shop on South Broadway who would like to start having art shows,” says Erickson, “Since I’ve kind of been through the loop, I told them I would help them out.” And since Dia de los Muertos was coming up, a Day of the Dead theme seemed ideal.
“I paint a lot of skulls,” says Erickson.
She’s been part of the Denver art scene for the last four years, and hopes this show will be the first in a series of monthly exhibits that get exposure for local artists.
There are eighteen artists in this initial show. Mandy Inkbear, owner of Good Omen Tattoo, and Dave Stem, a Good Omen tattoo artist, will be the featured artists at the opening night party, which will also include food, face-painting and tattoos, of course.
