The third annual EcoCreations opens tonight at Muse Gallery in Longmont. Seventeen artists were selected to display their work in this show, and it’s all created entirely from recycled materials and found objects.

“We have so many different creations, from dresses made out of coffee filters to a coffin made out of old wood. It’s very diverse. Some are more abstract, while others are found objects,” says program coordinator Krystyna Farquhar. “The goal of the show is twofold: One is to promote recycling, because of the impact on our environment and our planet. The other is to see how what’s thought of as useless trash can be refashioned as fine art.”

All of the participating artists will be at the gallery today to discuss their work; standard gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Muse is also open until 9 p.m. on second Fridays. For more information, visit www.themusegallery.org
