Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Lingerie competitions, bondage performances and boa constrictors are all part of the fifteenth annual Victorian Fetish Ball, happening tonight at the Diamond Cabaret. The event is “pure chaos,” says producer Kevin Larson — an “erotic tasting” whose mandatory-costume rule makes all patrons part of the fetish experience. “It’s my job to create five hours of foreplay and then send everybody home to have a good time, whatever that may mean,” he adds.
Past balls have consistently sold out, and Larson expects at least 1,200 party people this year. Special acts and features, including reverse stripteases, world-renowned pole dancers and a 1950s fashion show, have been added to a lineup that includes a record 35 performances. “The balloon outfits and the naked erotic yoga will really make this event fun and interesting for everyone,” Larson promises. “This year we even have special performances like girls dancing with tarantulas.”
Sound like fun? The 2014 Victorian Fetish Ball starts at 7 p.m. at the Diamond Cabaret, 1222 Glenarm Place. Tickets are $39 for damsels, $79 for dukes; purchase them at victorianfetishball.com.
