As an alternative to the conventional wisdom emanating from the Pentagon and the White House, Robert Greenwald’s scalding documentary Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War makes for powerful and provocative viewing. As an antidote to the notion that American patriotism consists, in toto, of endorsing any preemptive foreign intervention, no matter how vaguely justified, it’s a brave act of conscience. The film includes extensive interviews with former U.S. ambassador to Iraq Joe Wilson, controversial former U.N. arms inspector Scott Ritter, former CIA agents who were active in the Middle East, and other figures from the diplomatic, military and intelligence establishments who question the Bush administration’s current adventurism. Greenwald’s film will show Sunday, December 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Nomad Theater, 1410 Quince Street in Boulder. DVD copies will also be available for purchase.
