EatDenver, a group of independent restaurateurs who collaborate on a variety of food-related charitable initiatives, is the force behind the Big Eat, an annual pig-out celebrating the local dining scene. Now in its third year, the Big Eat has made a big move — to Sustainability Park, at 2500 Arapahoe Street. The location’s mission as an ongoing test site for sustainable housing and gardening will help bring urban farming into sharper focus at this year’s event, which will include farm stands featuring local vendors who work with Denver restaurants. And that’s just the icing on the cake, since the Big Eat will also feature food and drink from thirty Denver restaurants, breweries and wineries, as well as live music by Oakhurst. “This is the best place to get a great sampling of signature dishes from Denver’s truly independent restaurants,” says spokeswoman Jamie Wagner. “It’s designed to be a celebration of all things local.”
The Big Eat runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets to this delightful debauch are $40 and include two drinks; get yours at eatdenver.com.
