Jackson Galaxy has what he calls “cat mojo,” and it fits his image like the cat’s meow: The bald-headed, tattooed, goateed pet whisperer looks a little scary, but if you watch his Animal Planet show, My Cat From Hell, you’ll see that he’s really rather sweet, and certainly down-to-earth when it comes to solving cat problems. Plus, you can’t argue with the star power of a guy with a name like Jackson Galaxy, whether it be actual or made up or a little of both. He’s also a former Boulderite, and his new book, Cat Daddy: What the World’s Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, retells an adventure from his days in Colorado through the story of Benny, a difficult kitty he met and trained while working at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
Galaxy returns to Boulder — specifically to the Boulder Book Store, 1107 Pearl Street — tonight at 7:30 p.m. to sign copies of Cat Daddy and discuss life in the trenches with Benny. Admission is $5, which serves as a voucher toward buying the book; find more information at www.boulderbookstore.com or call 303-447-2074. Galaxy will also be at the Tattered Cover LoDo, 1628 16th Street, tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. That event is free; go to www.tatteredcover.com or call 303-436-1070.
