If you keep up at all with Denver street art, you’re familiar with Gamma Acosta, who paints walls here, across the nation and even abroad. He can often be seen painting and repainting murals on the wall at Bella Vista Mexican Restaurant on the edge of downtown Denver (his latest project there is a Back to the Future tribute scheduled to be completed by the nationwide Back to the Future Day celebration on October 21), when he isn’t creating murals for other Denver restaurants and businesses. And now he’s being honored by a local company where he is obviously a loyal client: All City Paint, which is releasing a limited-edition Gamma Gallery spray paint can tonight at 5 p.m. at Certified Customs Tattoo in Baker.

The event, which includes an artist meet-and-greet with signed cans and Gamma Gallery stickers and prints, also doubles as a fundraiser for a friend who was caught in the crossfire during a LoDo let-out shooting in September and faces a difficult recovery. Acosta hopes the community will rally behind the victim at tonight’s can-release party;  donations are also being accepted online at a GoFundMe page. Visit the Facebook event page for more information.
