The other night at a wedding reception, this guy asks me if I have a reservation. I’m with the wedding party, I say. “So you have no reservations,” he says. I look confused. “No reservations,” he repeats. Huh? “You look like a young Anthony Bourdain,” he says.

When I tell him that Bourdain is actually coming to town for a one-night-only show at the Buell Theatre, he says, “Bourdain talks too much shit.” I agree, but isn’t that precisely what makes the bad boy of cuisine so entertaining?

Whether or not you’re a fan of the overly candid chef, best-selling author and host of the Travel Channel’s No Reservations, An Evening With Anthony Bourdain is sure to make you laugh and keep you entertained as Bourdain regales the audience with his razor-tongued, gonzo observations about the always-decadent world of cooking, restaurants, celebrity chefs and fame.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Buell, in the Denver Performing Arts Complex; tickets are $35 to $60. For information, call 800-745-3000 or go to www.ticketmaster.com.
