Colorado has its fair share of beautiful Victorian buildings, and today from 1 to 3:30 p.m., you can peruse one of the finest at the Hotel Boulderado 100th Birthday Tea and Tour. “It’s such a venerable grand dame of hotels,” says Bobbe Hultin, tour director for the Colorado Historical Society, which is presenting the birthday party.
The tea, catered by the turn-of-the-century hotel’s award-winning kitchen, includes fresh-baked lemon pistachio scones with clotted cream, four types of tea sandwiches, chocolate dipped strawberries, mini cheesecakes, petit fours and biscotti, Hultin says. Then, after dining in the private Spruce Room, a historian will lead guests on a tour that covers the hotel’s past, present and future. The tour will provide some history of the city of Boulder, as well.
The Hotel Boulderado is at 2115 Thirteenth Street in Boulder. Admission to both the tea and tour is $55. For more information, call 303-866-4641 or visit www.coloradohistory.org.
