Every Tuesday at Bovine Metropolis Theater, two improv teams battle for the audience’s affections — and votes. Only those rare comedic talents who can keep the laughs coming, winning for six consecutive weeks against new challengers, earn the coveted Battle Royale title. “It’s not easy,” says theater producer and sales manager Linnea Brutlag. “But if you win six weeks in a row, then you get your own show at the Bovine.”

The title-holders — formerly the Improvables — started as an offshoot of the Littleton High School improv club. This year, Doron Burks, Jeff Garland, Sam Golden, George Kotelnikov and Ben Lee are all at different universities, but they’re coming home for the holidays and reuniting for an irresistible clash of comedy. Inner Beauty, their full-length, self-titled improv show, starts at 8 p.m. tonight (with an additional show on January 9) at 1527 Champa Street. Tickets are $10; for more information, go to www.bovinemetropolis.com or call 303-758-4722.
Fridays, 8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 2. Continues through Jan. 16, 2009
