We’ve written before about photographer Suzanne Heintz and her too-perfect mannequin family, husband Chauncey and daughter Mary Margaret, who for a decade-and-a-half have been the subjects of an ongoing project called Life Once Removed. Somehow, Heintz’s ideal family has a way of always falling to pieces, as it did last summer at a failed wedding ceremony; more recently, things got hinky during an awkward holiday shopping spree, which Heintz videotaped and released online on New Year’s Day.

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back. Learn more about Suzanne Heinz and Life Once Removed online.
