“We’ve always used the word ‘wanderlust’ metaphorically around self-exploration,” says Wanderlust Festival co-founder Jeff Krasno. “We play around with that idea quite a bit — exploring the world and discovering your best self.”

So what does a festival honoring that word look like? It includes lots of yoga and inspirational live music (including Caravan Palace and electronica star Moby), a kids-and-family program, biking and hiking and running programs – and food. “This year we really worked on a number of different things as pertains to food, from an educational perspective and an eating perspective,” Krasno says. To that end, there will be a special meal created by Top Chef‘s Hugh Acheson, food lectures by experts and other nosh-related activities.

And the festival is accessible to yoga practitioners of all levels, he adds. “There certainly are some high-level teachers who will appeal to the more advanced practitioner, but we do have a lot of basic classes. There’s definitely room for people who are curious about yoga, and we offer a huge variety of other things to do. You can do meditation and yoga in the morning and then go on a nature walk led by a local naturalist.”

Tickets range from $15 for individual music events to $475 for a deluxe package. Wanderlust runs today through Sunday, July 7, at Copper Mountain Resort; visit colorado.wanderlustfestival.com for a full schedule and to purchase tickets.
