Santa Claus is comin’ to town…and so is Macaulay Culkin, star of the cult-favorite holiday film Home Alone, which turns 35 this year.

On Tuesday, December 9, the Paramount Theatre will host a screening for the film’s anniversary, followed by an exclusive live and moderated interview with Culkin, who will dish behind-the-scenes details about his experiences on set bringing Kevin McCallister to life, his favorite memories from filming and his take on why this movie has become such a beloved holiday classic that added many lines to the pop-culture lexison.

Filmed largely in Winnetka, Illinois, the movie follows the antics of eight-year-old Kevin, accidentally left behind when his large, affluent family (“You’re a disease, Kevin”) flies to Paris for Christmas (“I made my family disappear!”). Kevin is left to fend for himself (“I went shopping yesterday: I got milk, eggs and fabric softener”) and fight off burglars, aka “the Wet Bandits,” trying to break into the house.

The Paramount has been playing up the nostalgia factor this season; upcoming events include a September 29 screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show with Barry Bostwick, an October 12 conversation with cast members from Twin Peaks and GOLDEN GIRLS The Laughs Continue on October 19.
