Meet the Lich King of World of Warcraft in the flesh – or the guy who voices him, anyway – at Nan Desu Kan, the area’s premier convention for fans of anime and manga. The voice behind the world’s best-known undead noble – aka Michael McConnohie – as well as dozens of other favorite characters from everything from Robotech to Vampire Hunter D, is just one of many guests. You’ll also see artists and writers, and a Rock Band competition, costume contests and dances, a dealer’s room, showings, video games and much more will round out the weekend.

“For someone who’s new, it’s a great way to learn what this world is about and get exposure to a variety of kinds of anime and the people who help make it,” says Matthew Porter, the convention’s press coordinator. “For someone who’s already a fan, it’s a chance to learn more about how it’s made, to see what’s really new and share their enthusiasm with thousands of other people who are really excited about it.”

Immerse yourself in anime’s finest, today through Sunday at the Denver Marriott Tech Center, 4900 South Syracuse Street. Tickets for the event are $30 daily or $50 for a weekend pass. For tickets and additional info, including a schedule of events, visit www.ndkdenver.org.
