The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
The 21st annual Furry Scurry drew a crowd of nearly 12,000 people and 5,000 dogs to Washington Park on Saturday for a fundraiser that collected nearly $1 million (and counting) for programs and services that help homeless pets at the Dumb Friends League. “We’re so proud to be part of such a compassionate, pet-friendly community,” said Bob Rohde, president and CEO of the Dumb Friends League. “The work we do wouldn’t be possible without such generous local support of our mission and programs that help homeless pets in need.”
