These days, children of the ’80s are the 18-to-28-year-old demographic, which means that when a venue hosts an ’80s night, it hits the spot — especially when you’re asked to dress the part.
Tonight, the Walnut Room, 3131 Walnut Street, hosts just such an event: Bringing Back the ’80s, featuring DJ Hot to Death. The night kicks off at 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 8) with Hot to Death’s totally tubular repertoire of the decade’s greatest hits. Prizes will be awarded for best bad sweaters, but everyone is ex-pected to look their raddest. So on scrunchies, on leg warmers, on neon and hairspray. On acid-wash jeans, on makeup, on Spandex and bangles. As long as you put the excess in accessorizing, you’ll fit right in.
Tickets are $6 at the door. For more information, visit www.thewalnutroom.com or www.hottodeath.com, or call 303-292-0529.
