“The list of things I’m thankful for this year begins with the piles and piles of early-season snow we’ve been getting this month,” says Winter Park spokeswoman Mistalynn Lee. “It’s looking especially white and wintry up here considering it’s only November.”
To help keep your holiday celebration from interfering with your four-day weekend ski plans, Winter Park hosts its annual Thanksgiving Dinner tonight at the Lodge at Sunspot. You’ll ride the Zephyr Express gondola up to the Continental Divide and enjoy a buffet-style meal with all the traditional T-day trimmings. “It’s one of my favorite events of the year,” Lee says. “The food is fantastic, and Sunspot is a rustic lodge that makes for an unforgettable mountain experience.”
The best part? When you wake up in the morning from your food-coma dreams of carving turns down a mountain of mashed potatoes and gravy, you’ll be even more thankful you’re not stuck sitting in holiday ski traffic on I-70 with the rest of the turkeys.
