After a year’s hiatus, the Fat Tire Classic is back with a weekend of mountain biking, live music and, of course, beer. “It’s not a race,” says media contact Rachel Hirt. “It’s just about getting up and riding the trails. We see that active people like to see their money going to sport-themed causes, so that’s what we did.”
The Classic starts today with a 4 p.m. registration at Winter Park and continues through Sunday; highlights include five catered meals, a Fat Tire truck bursting with all-you-can-drink beer, live music including Opie Gone Bad, multiple mountain-biking routes for all skill levels, family hikes and much more. All non-hiking/biking events take place at the base of Winter Park Resort, 85 Parsenn Road. Tickets are $50 plus a minimum donation of $145 to benefit the National Sports Center for the Disabled and the American Red Cross.
