Burlesque meets classic rock in the best way possible when the Vinyl Vixens Burlesque Tribute to the Heroines of Rock ‘n Roll opens late tonight for a two-night run at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret. And it won’t be any old run-of-the-mill burlesque you’ve seen before. Conceived by local burlesquer Honey Touche and inspired by her dual love of burlesque dancing and vinyl records, the show stars special guest Diamond Back Annie, direct from L.A., as well as returning Lannie’s heroine Fanny Spankings, on loan from her new home in Pittsburgh, as emcee. “Fanny Spankings is back for just two shows,” Touche teases. “This will be your only chance to see her for at least a year!”

The musical vignettes performed might include anything from a burlesque-treated cover of a favorite song by a female artist or a song about a girl to an act inspired by a vinyl album cover of yore. “We’re concentrating on female rock-band music mainly from the ’50s and ’60s,” Touche notes without wanting to give away too much. “You might see something from Cyndi Lauper or the Jefferson Airplane, or even a more classic burlesque based on Eartha Kitt or Brigitte Bardot.” Steamy!

Catch the Vinyl Vixens at 11 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at Lannie’s, 1601 Arapahoe Street; to reserve tickets, $25, in advance, go to www.lannies.com or call 303-293-0075.
Fri., Jan. 20, 11 p.m.; Sat., Jan. 21, 11 p.m., 2012
