Prepare yourself for the next generation of bar sports with RollerBall, a game that inventor Bob Lyons calls “a cross between air hockey and foosball, laced with the essence of boxing.” Players face each other across a table and try to launch a one-inch steel ball into one of three opposing goals, using glove-like paddles. Requiring both speed and endurance, it’s a step up in intensity from the tabletop games from which it evolved.

Come down to Barney’s Sports Bar, 15007 East Colfax Avenue in Aurora, tonight for the sixtieth RollerBall Tournament. The doubles tourney randomly matches experienced players with newer players to make balanced teams, so it’s a perfect entry point for beginners. The fee is $20, and the top three teams will split the combined take — not to mention secure bragging rights for the bar sport of the future. Registration ends at 2 p.m.; the tournament starts at 3. For more info, call 303-367-0222 or visit www.rollerballscoop.com.
