As a university town, Boulder has a reputation for supporting both the avant garde and the cultural underground. Tonight, for instance, the Univerisity of Colorado boulder will host the multimedia program Invasion 2012, featuring works by students of new media technology-arts ground-breakers Mark Amerika (who teaches Remix Culture) and Mark McCoin (New Directions in Digital Arts), which could turn your presumptions about multimedia performance upside-down.

The experimental evening — and semester culmination — begins at 7 p.m. in the Atlas Black Box Theatre on the CU-Boulder campus; admission is free. For information, go to the Facebook event page for details.
