On the eve of what could be the most-awaited Star Wars film premiere of all time – Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially opens in theaters nationwide on December 18 – the Denver Art Museum just announced an out-of-this-world prize.  A showy Smithsonian-curated exhibit, Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume, will feature costumes and artifacts culled directly from the source of the Force: the archives of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. You won’t be able to walk through this exhibit until November 2016 but, like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it will surely be worth the wait.

Individual tickets for this specially ticketed exhibition will go on sale on May 4, 2016. Tickets for groups of ten or more are available now by calling 720-913-0088 or by e-mailing groupsales@denverartmuseum.org. Learn more about the exhibit online. And may the Force be with you on this new art adventure!

Will you step up to support Westword this year?

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
