Cherry Creek North is making a stylish splash. At last Saturday’s Cherry Creek North Food & Wine bash that filled a block of Fillmore with tables from more than twenty local restaurants and other food-friendly ventures, we spotted a globe-trotting trendsetter sporting a paisley-printed look. And it turned out that businessman Scott Snyder’s personality was as colorful as his attire. “My all-time icon is Alice Cooper,” says Snyder. “He’s my favorite rock star ever. He is just crazy, and I really admire his lifestyle.”
“The one thing I’ve always tried to do when I dress is stay true to myself,” he explains. “I grew up a rock-and-roll kid, and I try to wear things that are not the status quo. I try to wear something that’s different, something that’s me, something that’s expressive. Then I decide from there how I’m going to make the outfit work, with whatever crazy thing I’m in the mood for, and blend everything else around it. I can’t be normal or dress like everyone else,” explains Snyder, who grew up in Denver but has lived in Austin and London as well.
Snyder’s Hamilton watch is full of intricate details; watches happen to be Snyder’s favorite accessory. “What I love about fashion is the expression and creativity,” says Snyder.

Snyder’s paisley button-down is balanced by these solid-colored teal shorts; they’re BOSS by Hugo Boss. Although Snyder’s favorite color is purple, this outfit draws from shades of blue and teal. “I shop at a combination of places,” Snyder says. “When I travel, I like to shop in Camden Market in London. When I’m in Denver, I shop at Neiman Marcus for the most part. I do a lot of online shopping. Gilt.com is a big one. If it’s in the clearance bin, it’s probably my style. I find that with menswear, if you wait a while, it will go on sale.”

These blue-and-black python loafers with gold buckles are made by Gucci and are a feast for the eyes. Snyder picked them up in Austria. “I don’t think about being fashion-conscious; I just wear what I like,” Snyder explains. “If you wear what you enjoy, it doesn’t matter if other people like it.”

Always dress to suit your mood and personality, Denver.
