$20,000

You may not have a valentine this Valentine’s Day, but there’s a lot to love tonight. From 9 p.m.- 1 a.m., the Cherry Cricket, at 2641 E. Second Avenue, will offer its annual Anti-V Day Karaoke Party. “Pissed at your ex? Can’t afford a fancy dinner? Think Valentine’s is a stupid marketing holiday? Like to prey on lonely hearts? PERFECT!” the bar’s website pronounces. “Come to the Cricket, sing your heart out and maybe, just maybe, you might find that perfect someone, at least for a night.” You’ll be helped in your hunt by the bar, which is offering drink specials, including “cupid’s choice” shots for just $3, all night long. Admission is free (but you’ll no doubt want to buy a burger – which Jason Sheehan raves about in this week’s Second Helping); for details, call 303-322-7666.

And Club 404, the bar at 404 Broadway that Jerry Feld bought back before he was too young to hold a liquor license (and that was well over fifty years ago), is bringing jazz back to Broadway this Valentine’s Day, when the Bobby Trujillo Quartet, featuring vocalist Hughey Jackson, takes the makeshift stage at 8:30 p.m. tonight. There’s no cover – so be sure to tip big at the bar. For more information, call 303-778-9605.
