The fruits of the regional retail union known as the Original Shopping Districts are finally beginning to ripen, as evidenced by tonight’s Ladies Only Sample Tour event, taking place from 4 to 7 p.m. in member districts all over the metro area. A successful, rapidly growing venture in past years, the tour was originally dreamed up by the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants as a way to kick-start business during the off-season, but this is the first time the concept will be shared with Old South Pearl Street, Old South Gaylord Street, Olde Town Arvada and Historic Golden. We call that smart thinking (smart enough that we pinned a Best of Denver award on Littleton this year for coming up with the idea in the first place) and fully expect shop-happy women to line up for the $10 wristbands that will entitle them to free samples, treats and coupon booklets for participating merchants in the district of their choice.
