Waiting for a good reason to get a tattoo? Then today’s the day: From noon to 8 p.m., the artists at Th’ink Tank Tattoo will give you a two-by-two-inch tattoo of your choice for $50. The proceeds will help out a friend and client of the shop, 27-year-old Melanie, who has cystic fibrosis and is in need of a new set of lungs.
When shop artists Jef Kopp and Fish heard that most of Melanie’s income goes to her medical costs, they knew they had to do something. “We are in a position where we can perform a service to raise money for someone we care about, so why wouldn’t we?” Fish explains. Donate Life will be at Th’ink, 172 South Broadway, to educate tattooees about organ donation and sign up new donors. Proceeds and donations go directly to Melanie.
