Theater Walk Into Town

Susan Lyles, founder and director of the woman-centric And Toto too Theatre company, confirms it: This Play Crawl thing seems to be working. Entering its third year of entertaining and fundraising along Tennyson Street, the And Toto too Theatre Company Play Crawl will hit the road this evening from 6 to 10 p.m. for a walking sampler of local theater works that begins and ends at the Oriental Theater.

“It’s one of the most unique fundraisers in town, and great to spend a summer evening,” says Lyles of the journey down a theatrical yellow brick road in north Denver. “You get to see brand-new works and support women in the arts, and it also brings a lot of people in the community together. Different companies from all over town are working with us just for this benefit.”

The event will include ten short world-premiere performances by an all-star group of local women playwrights at various businesses along the stretch of Tennyson from 38th to 44th avenues, along with food, swag bags, a silent auction and, beginning at 8 p.m. back at the Oriental, a karaoke party to top off the evening.
