RedLine in RiNo is so much more than a gallery — it’s a self-proclaimed “urban laboratory,” a resident art studio enclave and purveyor of art programs in the schools. And in all its capacities, it is forever reaching out to the community with strong leanings toward collaboration and education. RedLine director PJ D’Amico is adamant when she says, “There are no closed studios here.”
In celebration of RedLine’s initiatives and in part to ensure that they continue Saturday’s first annual RedLine Gala will be a true art party in every sense.
Featuring a smorgasbord of interactive installations by such resident and national artists as Jay Dion, Viviane Le Courtois, Gretchen Schaefer and the Fallen Fruit Collective, the event will also include a silent auction, cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tickets to this sensory overload are $100; RedLine is at 2350 Arapahoe Street.
Here’s a teaser from Fallen Fruit, a Los Angeleno collective that creates maps of public fruit, hosts Public Fruit Jams and fruit tours, plants fruit trees and otherwise explores issues of local food and community sharing:
