In case you haven’t heard already, it’s a powder day up in the mountains. Loveland won the race to open first yesterday, and Arapahoe Basin’s hot on its heels this morning with more than nine inches of fresh snow (and counting) in the last 48 hours — on top of the snowmaking operation it’s been running all month.
“We’ve got our brand-new Black Mountain Express lift open as of this morning, the High Noon intermediate run is open top to bottom, and we’ve got three features in our terrain park open,” reports A-Basin spokesperson Leigh Hierholzer. “It’s still snowing like crazy, too. We’ll probably have another four inches by the end of the day.”
It’s probably too late to call in sick, but what about a long lunch?
