Talking to the Dead, which went up on the wall of the MacSpa the other day, is all about the occult as a commodity. Featuring a series of artsy Ouija Boards created by local artists and juried by Eric Matelski, the show reflects the season smartly and with panache, accompanied by Dead Ringers, another Halloween companion show by a group of invitees. Tonight’s opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. is more than just a reception: You can also opt to take to the streets with vampire author and artist Mario Acevedo for a “wicked and weird” history tour of the surrounding Lodo streets. Trust me, Mario has a wicked and weird sense of humor to match, and it’s gonna be fun. A preview of Talking to the Dead follows. The spirits recommend that you give this show a ghost of chance: The MacSpa is at 1738 Wynkoop Street, and admission is free.
