What can one not say about Artopia? Westword‘s annual multi-venue celebration spills over with things to do and hear and see and eat and drink, from visual-art exhibitions and fashion shows to poetry readings and adventurous mixed drinks. You can shop at Artopia’s fashion market and I (Heart) Denver store, listen to DJs and live bands, thrill to fire dancers, dig video and LED installations, ogle burlesque girls and marvel at vaudevillian magicians — and that’s just a fraction of the goings-on.

The fun begins at 7 p.m. at Vinyl, 1082 Broadway, and the Living Room, 1055 Broadway, with events at other Broadway venues in the same vicinity — Mo’s, Bar Standard and City Hall — chiming in after 9 p.m. And don’t miss the annual Westword MasterMind awards ceremony, 8 p.m. sharp at the Living Room, where we honor local movers and shakers in the arts (who often do their thing under the radar and on a shoestring) with micro grants and increased recognition.

It’s going to be epic in 2012, and if you still need convincing, check out the blow-by-blow schedule, get additional information and then reserve your tickets, $25 ($35 on the day of the event), at http://microapp.westword.com/artopia/2012.
