Master printer, teacher, artist, retailer – Patricia Branstead is all these things, but since she relocated here from Steamboat Springs and opened her tiny but fabulous emporium of handmade papers and printing supplies, Kozo (a Best of Denver winner last year), her focus seems to have been on building the store and teaching workshops. But that’s all changed, now that her first show as a member of CORE New Art Space has opened. It’s the perfect opportunity to view her lovely, newer nature-inspired works, which are watercolored on delicate Asian papers and stretched on a frame; the show also features an older series of large, handworked folding screens.

Branstead’s work, along with that of fellow new member, painter Patrick Espy, will be fêted tonight at CORE, 900 Santa Fe Drive, with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m.; the exhibit then continues through February 8. The gallery is also open from 6 to 9 p.m. on First Friday, February 6; for details visit CORE online at www.corenewartspace.com or call 303-297-8428.
