Out in the open is the place to be on pleasant summer nights, and that’s where you’ll be seated for tonight’s performance at the Arvada Center amphitheater by Denver’s Wonderbound dance company. In a program called Memories, choreographer Garrett Ammon and the troupe will explore themes of Jewish life and folklore, with help from a trio of musicians from Colorado College (for a run-through of Israeli composer Ofer Ben-Amots’s “Odessa”) and Hal Aqua’s klezmer fusion band Lost Tribe (collaborating with Wonderbound for “Memories and Well Grounded Hopes”).
“Our annual summer performance at the Arvada Center’s amphitheater is always a highlight of our year,” Ammon says. “Working with Ofer Ben-Amots, Hal Aqua and all of the musicians to create this program was a sheer joy. The result is a rich and dynamic exploration of the human experience that will be heightened by the pleasure of performing in the open air and under the stars.”
