At the start of the summer, in anticipation of all those hot times ahead, we shared a string of articles about dating in Denver, including a cover piece that explored "Why Dating in Denver Is a Dumpster Fire."

Then, because misery loves company, we introduced "Dateless in Denver," a series of reader essays on the realities of dating in Denver — the good, the bad and the ugly — that included last week's sad account of ghosting. Now there's this from Anonymous:

One time my date accidentally double-booked me with another girl. He said he didn't want to blow her off, so we ate lunch together, awkwardly. I think they wanted me to leave. I asked them to drive me home. On the way there, he gave her a hand job as I sat in the back seat in silence. I didn't really know what to think, I kind of thought it was annoying. This wasn't the worst date I've been on, but it might be in the top ten.
Okay, that's it...for now. Although we're still accepting "Dateless in Denver" submissions, we're going to make a turn. Cuffing season is upon us, which makes this the ideal time to introduce a new public service: a dating advice column. No, we're not going to offer suggestions on how to start, improve or end a relationship; instead, we'll be offering ideas on events and activities that guarantee an enjoyable time...whether or not you hit it off with your date.

Looking for a bargain spot that will make you seem hip rather than cheap? Want an event that will promote discussion beyond just small talk? Or an activity that requires no conversation at all? Send an email with a quick outline of what you need to [email protected] and we'll come up with an ideal itinerary.

It's a date!
