Expanding on its ongoing photographic exhibition, Fashion/Culture, the Colorado Photographic Arts Center is hosting a Gala Fashion Show tonight at the McNichols Building. The gala is based on the same inspiration as its photo exhibit -- to raise awareness of CPAC and its many offerings -- and will also highlight the intersection between art and fashion.

Designs by El Salon, Goldyn and Jose Duran will all be on display, along with some of the work found in the exhibit curated by Natascha Seideneck, who serves as a bridge between the art and fashion communities.

"I find myself situated in a variety of roles in Denver,” Seideneck says. “I have been a hairdresser for thirty years, therefore involving me in the fashion world. I have taught photography for ten years and been an artist for twice that long. I consider all these endeavors to be equally creative and rewarding. So I am really trying to make the event a fusion of fashion and art...and importantly, not pretentious.”

The Gala Fashion Show VIP pre-event runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with doors opening for general admission at 7:30 at 144 West Colfax Avenue. For information and tickets, which range from $30 to $124, go to cpacphoto.org.
