The Dinah Shore Weekend is probably the biggest lesbian party in the nation, which is kind of strange. As Kim Ficera, author of Sex, Lies and Stereotypes, has said, “The only common denominator between Dinah Shore the person and Dinah the party is a golf tournament that very few people care about (the Kraft Nabisco Championship), and that’s hosted by an association (the LPGA) that can’t even bring itself to admit that lesbians exist.” Details, details. Here in the Queen City, the BAD-dest lesbian group in town, Babes Around Denver, is kicking off the first Friday of the year with its own Dinah Shore Promo Party. It’s also a Divine Maddness reunion party, with DJs Kathy V and Shannon Stone spinning ’80s tunes. The fun starts tonight at 6 p.m. at Tracks, 3500 Walnut Street; admission is $5.
